gCMOB APK Not Installing?: Fix "App Not Installed", Parsing and Play Store Errors on Android

gCMOB fails to install for a handful of reasons: an old copy already on the phone, an incomplete download, too little storage, or a phone that doesn’t meet the app’s requirements.

Find the error message you see below and follow the fix. Each one takes only a few minutes.

Quick answer

Installing from Play Store?

Clear the Play Store cache, free up storage and restart the phone.

Installing an APK file?

Uninstall the old gCMOB, allow Install unknown apps, and download the full file again.

Fix gCMOB Install Errors by Message

Find the message your phone shows, then follow the fixes from top to bottom.

"App not installed"

Likely cause: An older gCMOB is already on the phone, or there isn’t enough free storage.

  • Export your devices first (More → Export Device)
  • Uninstall the old gCMOB, then restart the phone
  • Free up storage and install again

"There was a problem parsing the package"

Likely cause: The APK didn’t download completely, or the phone runs Android older than 5.0.

  • Delete the file and download it again over stable Wi-Fi
  • Check your Android version (5.0 or newer)
  • Install from Google Play instead

"Package conflicts with an existing package"

Likely cause: A copy of gCMOB signed differently, often a modified APK, is already installed.

  • Uninstall the existing gCMOB
  • Install the official version from Google Play
  • Never mix files from different sites

"Blocked by Play Protect"

Likely cause: Play Protect doesn’t recognise the file. This is common with APKs from unofficial sites.

  • Delete the file
  • Install gCMOB from Google Play instead
  • Don’t turn off Play Protect to force an unknown file

"Install blocked" / unknown apps

Likely cause: Android doesn’t allow the app you opened the APK from to install apps.

  • Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps
  • Allow your browser or file manager
  • Turn the permission off again after installing

"Your device isn't compatible"

Likely cause: The phone runs Android older than 5.0, or uses a processor gCMOB doesn’t support.

  • Check Settings → About phone
  • Install any available system update
  • Use another phone, or iCMOB on an iPhone

"Download pending" in Play Store

Likely cause: Other downloads are queued, the Play Store cache is stuck, or downloads are set to Wi-Fi only.

  • Cancel other downloads in Play Store → Manage apps
  • Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Storage → Clear cache
  • Check Play Store’s download preference

APKM or XAPK file won't open

Likely cause: These are app bundles with several files inside, not a single APK, so Android can’t open them directly.

  • Download the single .apk file instead
  • Or install from Google Play
  • Avoid installer apps from unknown developers

Installs but crashes or won't open

Likely cause: Leftover data from an old version, or a corrupted install.

  • Restart the phone
  • Settings → Apps → gCMOB → Storage → Clear cache
  • Uninstall and reinstall the latest version from Google Play

1Install gCMOB from Google Play (Recommended)

Google Play checks the file for you and updates gCMOB automatically, so most install errors never happen.

1Free up space

  1. Make sure you have at least 300 MB free.
  2. Check Settings → Storage and delete unused apps or videos.

2Search for gCMOB

  1. Open Google Play and search for gCMOB.
  2. Check that the developer is Aditya Infotech Ltd.

3Install

  1. Tap Install and wait for the download to finish.
  2. Stay on Wi-Fi if your mobile data is slow.

4Open and add devices

  1. Open gCMOB and allow the permissions it asks for.
  2. Import your saved devices, or add them again by serial number.

2Install the gCMOB APK File Safely

Use this only if Google Play isn’t available on your device. Get the file from a source you trust, never a modified or “mod” APK.

1Remove the old version

  1. Export your devices: More → Export Device.
  2. Uninstall the old gCMOB, then restart the phone.

2Download the full file

  1. Download the latest .apk from our download page or another trusted source.
  2. Wait until the download completes; a partial file causes parsing errors.

3Allow the installer

  1. Open the file. If Android blocks it, tap Settings.
  2. Turn on Allow from this source, then go back.

4Install and lock it again

  1. Tap Install and then Open.
  2. Turn Install unknown apps off again for that app.

Uninstalling gCMOB removes the devices saved in it. Export them first with More → Export Device, or keep each recorder's serial number and password handy.

Avoid modified APKs that promise extra features. They can carry malware and can't update from Google Play.

Still Won't Install?

If gCMOB still won’t install after the fixes above, try these last steps.

Try another phone

If it installs on a second phone, the problem is your first phone's software or storage, not gCMOB.

Update the phone

Install any pending Android or security update, restart, and try Google Play again.
